Complementary Treatments

Eileen Bailey Health Guide
  • Complementary treatments are those that are used in combination with traditional treatments. For example, exercise, meditation and diet are not considered effective treatments for ADHD on their own but, when used in conjunction with traditional treatments, such as medication and behavioral therapy, can raise the effectiveness of those treatments in some people.

Concerta is an extended release formula of methylphenidate, the same medication found in Ritalin. It is a commonly prescribed stimulant medication that helps to reduce symptoms of ADHD.
