I thought ADD/ADHD was a neurological disorder.  Labeling it as a behavioral disorder is offensive to me, as an adult with ADD. This label implies that I must have some kind of control over the "behavior".  When in fact, it's a neurological disorder that is proven to be caused by genetic mutations.

Actually there is a high likelihood it is not a behavioural or a neurological disorder but a digestive disorder with the symptoms brought on my the poor digestion of proteins and the resultant broken protein chains causing neurological side effects.

Children do learn in different ways. It is always helpful to understand how your child learns and adapt lessons and teaching to that way. Children often learn best when incorporating different learning styles and senses as well. For example, when teaching the alphabet, children can see the letters, hear the sounds, use different things such as macaroni to make the letters so they can feel different textures, etc.

I hope this helps.
