This is fantastic advice for ANYONE who has a dysfunctional family structure. Just because they are family, does NOT give them the right to make you feel like less of a person. I love the "real life" scenarios, this is something I'll be using in my holiday planning this year!

Thanks so much for your comments. I think we could all use a supportive network around the holidays but it is hard to let go of what we think the holiday is supposed to look like and so many people are optimistic that "this year will be different" and then end up disappointed once again.
