    Hey Eileen,

Thanks so much for sharing this information. I have followed Dr. Amen's work since the early 90's. His book, Healing ADD: The Breakthrough Program That Allows You to See and Heal the 6 Types of ADD, (2001) is the best representation of his work with the ADD children and adults to date.

Of the hundreds of presentations I've listened to over the last eighteen years, he continues to be on my list of top ten presenters, not just ADD presenters.

Dr. Amen advocates the use of all effective treatments including medication.

Thankfully, for people like me, he does not limit treatment to medication, behavior modification, cognitive-behavioral therapy, other "talk" therapies, and education. All are helpful, but were not enough for me.

He personally uses and writes about diet and nutritional supplement strategies too, specific to the 6 types of ADD that he has described. He also includes information in his lectures on brain injury, the effects on the brain of drug and alcohol abuse, and non-ADD brain disorders.

For those who have never heard Dr. Amen present, you are in for a treat. He has scanned more than 10,000 brains using SPECT - (a brain imaging technology that allows us to see activity levels of different regions of the brain).

He is as informative as he is entertaining. Some of the stories he tells are tremendously moving. If you ever have the opportunity to attend one of his one- or two-day trainings...I encourage you to go.

For more information on the content of the program and the date it will be broadcast in your area, follow the link at the end of Eileen's post.

Thanks again for sharing this information Eileen,
