Eileen, my son & I really enjoy watching Michael Phelp's when he swim's, he our favorite swimmer.  My son used to take swimming lessons @ out local YMCA, but about a yr. in a half ago I couldn't afford our reduced family YMCA membership & I had to let the membership go, which I really hated to do, cause like Michael my son was very good at swimming & it also gave him a way to channel his high level of energy that he has built up, he wa going to lessons once a week.  I need to get him back into lessons though cause he really enjoyed them & swimming & now that I have a more stable job & place to live in the town where I work in, I might get him back into lessons when school starts, cause I will also have more money then as well cause I won't have to pay a sitter anymore to watch him while I'm at work.  Take Care, Heather & Kaleb

saturday august 30th '08,

eileen, my son & i watched michael all thru the olympics & we did see everyone of his races & the one w/the relay team when he won his 8/8 golds this year at the olympics.  my son loves to go swimming, i used to have him in lessons at our local ymca here in monroe, wisconsin about 2 years ago though i had to stop the lessons cause i couldn't afford the lessons or the membership anymore (i was only paying the reduced membership thru the united way grant for low income families), but i had to let it go even though i was only paying $25 a mnth for the membership.  in this coming up spring of 2009 i am planning on putting him back in lessons cause i should have saved up some money by then & now that we live in monroe i won't have to pay that much for gas.  cause when he was in lessons i had to drive 15 miles one way (30 miles round trip), every wednesday night to get to monroe for his lessons.  my son has always been a little fish (loved the water) ever since he was young child.          heather and kaleb

Michael is awesome & we're all proud of him. He's very humble. I just heard him interviewed on Good Morning America. His fame has not spoiled his personality!

I have a daughter & grandson who deal with ADD on a daily basis. Just wondering if Michael is able to manage other aspects of his life, such as his checkbook, and getting things done (other than swimming)?
