Hi I just took 20 Mg of Adderall about 3 hours ago and I feel NOTHING.  I donated red blood cells yesterday, is that the reason?? Please help me as to why I'm not feeling any different??

Thanks for your question.

Medication effects everyone differently so it would be difficult to say why you don't feel any of the effects of the medication. I would suggest continuing to take the medication according to your doctor's instructions. You may want to complete tasks that require sustained attention, such as reading. You may find that although you don't feel different you are still better able to complete these types of tasks.

If, after several days, you still do not feel as if the medication is having much of an effect on your ability to focus, you may want to contact your doctor and discuss this.

Thank you for your quick reply!! But in your opinion, would donating Red Blood Cells yesterday be the reason i'm not having any effect? Thanks in advance!

I am not a medical professional but in my non-medical experience I don't think this should cause a problem.

The side effects you listed are generic side effects common to (at least) 60% of all prescription drugs (and even some energy drinks, HA). The point is, the line between being hyper and being ADHD is so skewed now that its impossible to tell which is which. Adderol is not dangerous, but saying this is just not culturally acceptable because it is a "controlled substance" and our government deams it "illegal". However, the effects of adderol are mediocre at best, and i dont think it is right to exaggerate them to scare people into not using it.

I am college student, and I just started taking Focalin for ADHD. It it true: The medicine really does make me lose appetite. Whenever I take it, I just do not feel like eating. I am currently overweight, so it is definitely good for me.

It helps be concentrate much better also.
