Thank you for your response. You don't mention whether your son has a Section 504 at school. If not, requesting an evaluation to determine if your son qualifies for Section 504 and accommodations/modifications under that may be of help to you.

I would certainly set up a meeting with the teacher and discuss what you and him or her could do to help your son succeed. For example, can you set up a communication system and a rewards/consequence program to help your son stay on track with his behavior.

I am providing you with some links to additional information that may be helpful:

    I hope this information helps.

My son is 15 and a sophomore in high school. (He is on medication.) He was on a 504 since 5th grade in Michigan.  Moved to Texas last year.  He was determined ineligible. Moved to a better school district in Texas. I talked to the counselor at registration and was told that now they have RTI and don't really do 504 plans.  If I want him tested it will take a yearand he will not qualify for special ed any way. He is intelligent, but struggles. He does not fail so they do not want to help even though you can see he his struggles in daily grades. He has big goals for life. How do we get the things we need? I have contacted all teachers and they still will only contact me after I contact them when I see a problem and it is late then. Any advice would be helpful.  Thank you.
