My week so far.

Yesterday I called about the theripist and they said they would get back to me. Yesterday I did not take my aderall and I could tell it. I was tired, unmotivated and felt like I was run over!! I did not take it because I was running out and he had a huge snow storm. Yesterday I got a new perscription or at least they called me about it and I will go today and pick it up! Thank heavens. I took my medicine this morning and already feel much better. I think I might do some cleaning today! Hopefully I can get something done!!!  I got appointments for the hair and nail salon for Saturday. We got married 2 days after V-day so we will be having a nice romantice weekend the 15-16 and my mom will watch the kids so I am going to look good! :) Going to try really hard to make it a nice time for my husband I know what he will want and he has been so good this week with me and the mess and he has not gotten upset or anything. I really do love him a lot!!!! Well I am going to try to get some stuff done!!! If anyone's reading this have a great day!!

Hey Melissajane, you sound in much better spirits today.  If the therapist doesn't call you back today, call them again to get the ball rolling.  Take charge of your treatment.  You're health must be a priority to better cope with the disease!  Your hubby sounds like a sweetheart.  You are a lucky woman.  Your mom is really nice to take the kids so you two can have a special anniversary.  Congratulations!

Jade has thought of a new idea. He said to make a list of everything that needs to get done. Then put what needs to be done the most on at the top of the list and then do the one thing that needs to get done the most done. Then keep at it as long as I can on the list. If  I only get one thing done great if I get more done great. I don't need to look at the big picture because its too overwhelming. So get as much done as I can. At least I tried.

He is really helping me after I had a talk with him about how hard it is for me. He said I know its hard but I do get frustrated too. I need to let me feelings out sometimes also. So  all we need to do is talk about what's going on and have a good talk and let each other know our feelings before it gets to the point of blow up!!

You have some great ideas. You can even break tasks down into smaller pieces or write yourself a list for each item. For example, it sounds as if housework is really getting to you. Let's take the kitchen as an example and write yourself a list of what you want to accomplish to have a clean kitchen. If I were write a list for cleaning up after dinner it would look something like this:

 

Empty dishwasher

Put dirty dishes in dishwasher

Wash pots and pans

Put away food

Clean stove

Clean counters

 

You can then tape your list inside a cabinet and when you go to clean the kitchen you have step by step directions. It might be easier to not get sidetracked this way and to keep yourself motivated. You can goal yourself to finish the first step on the list, just to feel the satisfaction of moving to the second item. I use lists like this for many things and have used them to break down what I mean when I ask my kids to "clean their room"

 

If you have a list such as this in each room, you will have a "guide" to help you reach your goals. Then you can set a goal of cleaning one room without worrying about the other rooms. Once you complete the one room, give yourself a treat (could be anything from a dish of ice cream to a walk outside to time playing with your kids) before you move on to the next goal (or room).
