Melissa

It is so good to hear from you again. I am so very sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. What a terrible thing to go through.

I am glad, though, that you are doing well and must say, you sound like you are doing quite well. You have support in your doctor and it sounds as if he is helping you a lot. Of course there are things you are good at, we knew that all along. Cleaning the house, being organized, etc. are just not always strong points in women with ADHD, but there is so much more to life than that, isn't there?

And it sounds as if you are enjoying your children, rather than feeling overwhelmed as you were before. How great for you!!

Please keep posting, you were always such a welcome voice and always took the time to talk with other people and make them feel good.

Thank you for sharing Melissa. I suffer from PTSD AND BIPOLAR and unfortunately I am unable to take meds because I have a son who is 10 gonna be 11 in july with very severe disabilities. He needs constant 1-1 and the only break I get is when he is in school literally. So I just do the best I can every day and use prayer and meditation to help me each and every day. I recently celebrated 11 years clean and sober Christmas day and the skills I have learned in AA have helped with a lot more than just staying clean and sober. I do have a temper and am the 1st to admit I do way to much yelling and screaming and I am working very hard on that. I sleep an average of 2 hours a night normally from 3 am -5 am sometimes i get lucky and he doesnt get up till 6 am. And every now and again when he goes to school I just have to say bleep everything else and rest until he comes home. Anyway a positive attitude plus prayer and meditation go a long way for those of us that medication isnt an option. I am extremely happy to hear you are doing so much better and I will continue to keep you in my prayers every day.

Hi Melissa,

This is Victoriahope, I have not read any of your other posting but you sound like you are doing alot better. I am glad that you have positive support from your doctor. you also have positive support from us as well. Let me tell you, I don't have ADHD but my 11 year old son does. I see the struggle he goes through jsut to stay focus or complee something that he starts. I will always be a postive support for him. I can also so identify with the husband thing. My husband is not my sons biological father and he just don't get it and I don't think he wants to get it either. I doesn't want to do the necessary research to find out what my son is dealing with. I have to keep building my son up when my husband not knowly tears him down. It is a constant battle. So you just keep on keeping on. I pray that you will accomplish your new years committment. may GOD bless you in your success.
