Is it possible if someone who is ADHD can just become ADD. MY son really dosn't show the hyper part anymore. I was just wondering if it was able to just become ADD. Or could it be something else??A

Hyperactivity can decrease as children get older. This is one of the reasons people used to believe that children would outgrow ADHD as they got older.

Here are some links to articles that discuss the differences (and similarities) between ADHD and ADD:

    I hope this helps.

I believe that some kids simply outgrow the hyperactivity.  My son--who is 13, diagnosed at age 5--seems to be settling down a lot with the bouncing and the fidgeting.  What is his age?  He may also be responding to his meds better.  If it seems to be real severe, I would check with his dr.  Good Luck!
