ADHD, PTSD, Severe Depressioin

By mjpato Sunday, January 24, 2010

I live in Salem, MA and am looking for someone to treat my ADHD and2 Depression so I can be happy an functional again.   I was on ADD meds from 2004-early 2007. I was also on welbutrin but did not take it long and tapperred off.   I did get cut off cold turkey from my doctor who said it was a "Family Practice" and could not treat my ADD and depression anymore.   This was in GA

I need a Dr. that will not judge me.

Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

It would be impossible for me to know all of the doctor's that specialize in treating ADHD and other psychiatric conditions around the country. I can, however, offer you some suggestions for finding a doctor:

Contact a local support group. Someone there may be able to refer you to a doctor in your area. You can find support groups listed on CHADD.org.

There are also some websites that provide a directory of ADHD professionals:

CHADD

ADDA

ADDConsults

ADDResources

You can also check out some additional resources listed in Find a Healthcare Provider as well as some tips to help you in Finding a Healthcare Practitioner.

I hope this information helps.

Hi, I'm 44 and have suffered from the same combo. Meditation helped a lot and EMDR has been good for PTSD. It may also be worth looking at Energy Psychology for PTSD. Managing my diet very strictly has been successful for ADHD. Specifically doing an elimination diet with a support group cleared my mind in unbelievable way.

Best Wishes,

John
