Time is on Your Side-- Moving the Clock Forward

By David Giwerc Thursday, March 10, 2011

Sunday we move our clocks forward one hour. Every time this happens and we are required to do this, I feel as though I am being ripped off one precious hour of sleep, fun, work etc. Having ADHD means I have to remember to Pause and Pay Attention to what I am Paying Attention to.

So when I  pause, I realize I have no control over time; I only have control over what I choose to do with my time. It is nature's way of reminding me to enjoy the time I have right now. It is a reminder to make choices that move my life forward rather than being upset over something that is set by nature's laws.

Moving the clock forward actually means our day time will be longer. There will be more daylight to lead the way so that I will have better use of my time. Just like the one hour on the hands of the clock, we push forward; we need to push our lives forward in harmony with the natural rhythm of life.  What are you gong to do to push your life forward this year? What do the hands connected to your arms want to do in harmony with the hands on your clock?

As Nick Jagger and the Rolling Stones sing: "Timmmmme is on your side." It really is true but only when you push forward not letting it stagnate but using it as a fulcrum for forward movement. Time is never stagnant, neither are we unless we choose to be.

I know that I am quite glad to see the clocks move forward even though for one night I lost an hour. It helps to have daylight last longer, I can be more productive and know that spring is just around the corner.
