Tasks, Goals for the week of Sunday (2/24) - Saturday (3/1)

By grandma lise Monday, February 25, 2008

Is there something you want to do, but are having trouble doing?

Are you interested in joining a group on this forum for the purpose of individually identifying, working on, and/or reporting the results of completing tasks or working toward a goal each day?

You list the tasks or goal, you do the work, and then you report on the results; we, in turn, will support and encourage you.

Each week, I'll start a new SharePost. New members are welcome.

Tasks, Goals for the week of Sunday (3/2) - Saturday (3/8)

"When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy." - Rumi

Today was a good day. I woke up without the fatique and shakiness I've been experiencing this past week.

And, thanks to a 30-mile drive to another Michaels craft store, my new rubber stamps are finally put away.

I found the 11" x 14" clear plastic box frames I needed to expand my storage system. I place 4 wooden alphabet blocks in the corners of each tray, then add the rubber stamps and stack the trays 8 high into a shelving unit that is 16" deep. If it becomes necessary to move or store them, the trays of rubber stamps transfer easily into 10" x 12" x 15" storage boxes.

Next, I collected all my "itty bitty notes" scattered thoughout my desk and office - (they multiply like bunnies!) - then entered the information into my Chronological Log - (see post on 2/21). I didn't realize how much I'd missed this system until I began using it again.

As I research subjects on the internet, information now goes into the Chronological Log for retrieval later as needed. My desk is clean and clutter free. Whoopee!

In the morning, I will return to the office to catch up on the work I missed while home sick for three days last week.

Would love to hear about other's tasks and goals this week.

What a day. I didn't even have time to pick up my messages...

My friend who has cancer is doing better. The oncologist called this morning. He was very kind and informed her that she was right to not start chemotherapy last week. We still don't know why the nurse pressured her to start, but it doesn't matter because she's transferring to another group of oncologists.

I spoke with the social worker associated with the oncologist group she's transferring to, and one, possibly two of the four oncologists sound like a good match for my friend. I'm feeling both relieved and encouraged tonight.

I walked two miles after dinner.

Tomorrow will be another busy day. Three of my co-workers are working sick this week, so I'm washing my hands...a lot...and am going to bed early tonight so I can fight off their nasty viruses!

Stardust, Sunday sounded like so much fun. Good for you. You sound energized and ready to tackle some projects around the apartment.

Melissajane, glad to see you back with us again. Hope you're not getting sick too.

Well, it was another busy and productive day.

I developed a cold over night so I will spend the next few evenings watching movies from our collection.

Hope you all are having a healthy week.

"Many people worry so much about managing their careers, but rarely spend half that much energy managing their lives. I want to make my life, not just my job, the best it can be. The rest will work itself out."

--Drew Barrymore

It's been a long week. I went to work each day despite my cold. My evenings were spent on the computer, listening to NPR, or watching a movie. My cold has evolved into coughing fits. As of today, I am on a strong cough suppressant.

I spent much of today reading a wonderful, self-published book, Confronting Your Clutter, by Carolyn Koehnline, M.A., and surveying my things one room at a time. I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

More about this in my weekly sharepost today or tomorrow. Hope you all had a healthy and productive week.

Good going, Grandma!  You should be proud of yourself, I am!!  I like the Rumi quote.

I took Sunday off.  Ran a few errands, before the snowstorm today, visited with my dear Sister.  Played some pool.  The sun was shining.  A terrific day, all in all.

I want to get my kitchen cleaned this week.  And pick up stuff that is starting to clutter my apt.  And thoroughly clean my sink, I got some SOS pads now--look out!

Those are my goals.  Taking baby steps, and I'll get it done without getting stressed out!

Have an awesome week!
