Thank you for your question. You may want to contact ADHDResources.org as they are located in Washington state and may be able to help you find a support group in your area.

In addition, you can check on the CHADD site as well as ADDA to search for support groups in your area.

Please let me know how you make out.

I may live in NC, but I sure know how you feel.  All 3 of mine are ADHD and one also has ODD among other things.  I also have to contend with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  And the only people who understand, are the ones going through the same thing.  I found a support group once, but all the children were boys and mine was a girl.  I felt that I didn't belong because although they were the same, they were different.  I sure wish you luck in finding what you need.

first of all ,I had a hard time getting pregnant when I was ready for a family. I didn't know If or when my endometreosis started. But it took me awhile, My daughter came first, then 3 yrs later came my son.I had  felt so blessed that I  had them. My daughter developed fine. She never had any problems. I know each child is different, learns different etc. In my heart I felt something wasn't sitting right with me.I didn't know what it was ,but I felt something was wrong. As he started walking and talking.I didn't see any expression with my son. I didn't know his likes, I didn't see him smile much at all. When i would ask him things, He'd say quit often " I don't know.He was a very cute baby,so sometimes I'd look at him, and he'd say " What". There was a number of things, I just don't want to get into details because I don't know how much space I have. But I was very concerned for him. At the time I didn't know anything about ADD. The first I heard about it was when my son was struggling in 1st grade. I had taken him to Sylvan learning Center to help him, and they had mentioned that he could be ADD.To make a long story short, My son is going to be 19. He didn't finish school. He is very fustrated when things don't go his way. Found out later his dad was a ADD  kid. During my struggle It was my son and I. Noone else understood. I will always keep trying to get my son help. I just hope I can before something horrible happens.
