Hi, I am 43 (born 1965) I went through the same troubles you did as a kid, I was just considered to be a "difficult " child. I wasnt hospitilized because my parents were too snobby and didnt want any of their friends to know. Also nobody knew about ADHD then. I proceeded to cut school, use drugs, and get into alot of trouble.......Continued into adulthood, into violent and abusive relationships, lost jobs, career problems, family problems, you know the story..... Anyways, long story short, have severe bipolar and ADHD and now I am recieving ECT (shock therapy) monthly. It has saved my life. I am so sorry you had to experience the "old" way. The way it is stigmatized. Because it actually works, and doesnt hurt. I get put to sleep and dont feel a thing. I have tried EVERY other option. All the meds, etc...... I take Ritalin, and have ECT. Its better than takin 5-6 medications and being lost in space all the time. I would love to discuss this further if you are interested. Thanks. K

I hope your life has improved. Please let us know what is going on now.
