Finally Diagnosed

Check into the college you will be attending. Many offer support services for students with ADHD. You can check in the student support center/resource center and ask about services as well as possibly a support group for students with ADHD. This would allow you to connect with other people going through some of the same things as you and would not be so willing to judge you.
In the meantime, you can also check to see if there are any local support groups
Of course, there are also online communities such as this one. Here you can post your feelings, your thoughts, your frustrations, your triumphs. No one here will laugh at you or judge you for the struggles you may be having. We will try to help you through any hard times and help you to celebrate your successes, no matter how small.
Again, I am sorry you were faced with feeling ashamed.
Please let us know how you are doing.
