Hi-- I haven't dropped in for a while. I have been preoccupied by physical challenges related to a neck injury. It is difficult to cope with taking two ADHD meds plus muscle relaxants and neurontin. I am often tempted not to take all of them which in the long run is self-destructive. The good news is that I no longer have world class dry mouth from Adderal XR or any other bothersome side effects. I think it would be helpful to begin to get my meds organized and remember to throw out the empty bottles. Sounds simple but I usually end up with a mess as it is hard to maintain.
I learned that with a doctor's note that you can bring a small dog on an airplane flight. I flew to Boston with my Chihuahua from LAX and had a good experience with Virgin America. Having a dog around is really calming. I am also making a serious effort to practice mindfulness and be aware of my breathing. With all of the above I have begun to make a dent in the household clutter.

It is so good to hear from you again! I am glad that life is going better for you but so sorry to hear about your neck injury. What happened? Are you getting better?
I am surprised to hear about bringing a small dog on an airplane but would imagine if you have anxiety, having your pet with you would be very calming and give you a way to take your mind off your fears.
You are so right about deep breathing. It helps so much. When I interviewed a doctor for a post on AnxietyConnection.com, she said, "It is impossible to breathe deeply and have an anxiety attack at the same time." So true, whenever I am worried or anxious, I take several deep breaths and then continue to do it for about 10 minutes. Usually by the end of the exercise, I forget what I was worried about to start with!
Keep us posted on how you are doing.
