CANADIAN AD/HDers
This first post is to invite the participation of AD/HD Canadians in expressing their views and concerns which are uniquely Canadian.
As with all of us in the AD/HD Worldwide Community, we share our traits and behaviours. What differs is how AD/HD is dealt with from school board to school board, from doctor to doctor, from region to region, province to province and country to country.
Example in Canada each province has its own definition of what AD/HD is and, as a result, there is no consensus on how to best teach our children, provide government services and so on.
Countries also deal with AD/HD differently. The US is heavy into drugs (legal ones), Britain has ASBOS, Ontario has ZERO Tolerance and Expulsion. Australia appears to be moving away from drugs with other countries, such as the Netherlands, focussing on understanding and accepting AD/HD in society, instead of the predominately North American approach of "do-it-my-way" and if you don't we reject you. After all there is a reason why the US has the largest number of incarcerated individuals in the western world and it is not bad parenting, TV or video games. It is our education system. Oh I could really go on here as this area is one of my passions. What is your AD/HD passion or pet-peeve? What gets under your skin? What is working for you?
There are many problems or areas of concern and my hope is that this site will become a focal point for discussion and posting of views and ideas which address Canadian issues.
So if you stumble on the this page please pass the word and remember you don't have to be a Bolgger to post. If you only post a single comment you may help someone with their life, their pain. You may open a new area of research, contribute to thousands of teachers - you get the idea.
Cheers

Welcome Robert, welcome Canadians!
In America, organizations define themselves through their mission, vision, purpose, and goals. I'm interested in learning more about your organization.
