GOALS FOR THIS WEEK!

By gs Monday, April 21, 2008

Hello Everyone!

Everything with Staff Development Day went great.  We had a speaker on time management!  She had a good point.  She said, "In a day, do the UGLIEST thing first, and then branch out from there.  Here are my goals for work at least this week:

Monday Job: -SEND STICKY E-MAIL TO SOMEONE

                   -MAIL THE LETTERS I HAVE

-TIME SHEET TIME SHEET TIME SHEET (I'm WAY overdue here).

-EMAIL NICOLE ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO MEET FOR LUNCH!

-Meet with manager about goals and bookshelf.

-Ask (even though it's embarrassing), about the possibility of them paying for the work conference I'm going to in June.

-Tell her what I did on Thursday, how I went to a quieter room to work on stuff, how it helped me concentrate, that I want to create a list of events, etc.

-Maybe print out this list and give it to everyone so they can find the gaps? (I collect the programming brochures and we're missing many).

                   -E-mail Georgene

-Write goodnews piece for weekly newsletter.

                   -e-mail gen

                   -Photography binder (?Start somewhere?)

Arg wish me luck!

THEN:

Tuesday:        -FIND OUT WHEN NEXT LITERACY MEETING IS.

-Get online web update done and SENT.

-email assistant director (what I should have done THURSDAY!)

-Teach class/go early and print up materials I didn't get around to printing out last week.

Hey Gwyn,

Awesome list. Sometimes I find it helpful to prioritize my list early in the day before I get busy. It makes it easier to shift from one task to the next. I typically prioritize no more than 3 to 5 items. Looks like you're off to a great start this week.

Roast's are so convenient. My husband and I always wonder why we don't have roast more often.

Hi GS,

Thanks for sharing your to-do list for the week.

I'm wondering if some of those tasks might need to be broken down into smaller parts so it's not so overwhelming. I also like Grandma L's idea of prioritizing. But you are off to a great start. Let us know how your week goes.

Thanks so much Grandma Lise and Terry!

Terry you're right--I definitely need to break some of these tasks down into smaller bits.  It's Tuesday right now.  I still have a huge to-do list :(. I'm going to sharepost what has yet to be completed.  One thing that worked out was my boss and I worked together to get a project done.  So that helped.  We actually got it done.

Change in plans: I'm actually going to see my mom and bring the stuff tonight, so I have Wednesday morning free to do whatever and get errands done before work 1-9.  I still want to do that roast and put away my clothes.  Maybe go to the health club.  I always say I'm going to go there first thing in the morning, and I know how good I'd feel after, but it's just hard.

Arg!!!!!
