Update May '08

By Alice Hale Saturday, May 03, 2008

Hey! So as many of you know my psychiatrist has diagnosed me as having bipolar disorder. Since starting my medication my moods have been more level and I have had fewer problems with suicidal ideations and depression. I have informed my counselor of this diagnosis and she was more accepting of this diagnosis than she was of the adhd diagnosis which was of no surprise to me. If the meds continue working like they have been then both my psychiatrist and counselor will be doing some behavioral therapy with me to help me cope more efficiently with my bipolar and get along better in society.

Hey Alice,

How encouraging. Fingers and toes crossed!

It sounds as if things are slowly beginning to work out for you. A correct diagnosis is so important in developing an effective treatment. And what great news that you are having fewer problems with suicidal thoughts. Keep us posted
