Need Vyvanse Users / Past Users

By PattiMcComb Tuesday, November 20, 2007

Dear ADHD Community,

My name is Patti McComb and I work for Schlesinger Associates, a national market research comapany.  We are currently conducting a research study with parents of children with ADHD who either currently take Vyvanse, or have taken it in the past.  This is not a sales pitch, it is strictly a research study to learn more about personal experiences with Vyvanse.  It would consist of a 45 minute telephone interview that we are setting up through this weekend (11/21-11/25/07).  If you are interested, please email me at pmccomb@schlesingerassociates.com or call (888) 798-1889 ext. 271.

If you would like to learn more about our company, please visit our website at www.schlesingerassociates.com.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Patti McComb

Vyvanse started off just like adderall did, only right off the bat i noticed Vyvanse was much stronger. Like they said it would, it lasted longer but to the point where i could not get to sleep at the time I wanted to. It really decreased my appetite, which I did not mind too much. I found that after a few months, I fell into a depression from it. It made me anti social, it made me over analyze everything, it made me a nervous person who never felt at ease or relaxed. After the peak of the drug was over, I felt irritable and lost. It really had a negative effect on me, I went off of it and if i was ever to go back on ADD medication I would rather be on Adderall. Vyvanse was too intense, and created negative feelings and moods.

I am a 21 yr old male diagnosed with adult add and have been on this medication for about 3 days. The first day I felt great and had a "motivational boost", but the days to follow only caused problems such as insomnia, ringing in the ears, digestive problems, spacey(zoned out), headache, irregular HR, short temper, depression, and an over feeling of "slowness." My doctor put me on 70mg, but as soon as these symptoms became intolerable he offerered to switch me back on focalin xr which worked well for me, or open the pill and titrate the dosage to find a proper one. I wanted to switch to a different medication that was cheaper on my insurance because focalin xr is quite expensive.

I was self medicating with adderall XR for over two months.  Those made me focused, still, confident, AND euphoric.  Once I was diagnosed with ADD inattentive type, I was introduced to vyvanse.  Now after a few days on this med, I had the same benefits from adderall, but without the euphoric feeling with a more calm focusing, along with a very antisocial personality, but still confident.  Vyvanse works wonders and actually lets me care extra more about my assignments than the social life.
