When are doctors going to realise that children with ADHD have it 24/7 just like diabetis or any other condition. It also does not magicalloy begin in school. It is that doctors dismiss parents who spend 24/7 with toddlers as imbiciles and only believe teachers who only spend a couple of hours with the kid. My daughter was 20 months old when she started Ritalin. Sger had to get several pills through out the day as they didn't have long acting ones then. Of course they have sleep problems! You took away the medicine that calms them down. Doctors should listen to parents so that the kid is under control before they start school rather than have them miss out on learning and avoid

My daughter was diagnosed at 3 1/2 yrs old and she is now 6 yrs. old and doing very well.  Your child sounds a lot like mine. She was a difficult baby, very whinny, didn't sleep for long periods of time, and needed constant attition.  At 2-3 yrs old her real sleeping problems started and she would stay up until 1-2am and then be back up at 5-6am. and if I wasn't up with her she was into anything and everything.  We were also having problems with her wondering off, she very much had a mind of her own and it was going 24/7!  I started out at her peditrition and he referred me to a Behavior and Disability Clinic were she went through a whole day of testing and then we were sent home with suggestions on how to deal with her.  Two months later they called to check on us and things weren't any better so they referred me to the Child Psyc. Clinic and I wasn't in the room 10 minutes and the doctor said he had reviewed the video and her chart from the other clinic and that she would leave with medication that day.  I was so relieved because I finally felt like someone was listeding to me and believed what my child was really doing!
