When you think of how adults with ADHD are challenged on a daily basis with symptoms including procrastination, feeling overwhel...

Dear Terry,

I just discovered you and am so glad that I did. I have adult ADD without the hyperactivity portion, however, having said that, your comments on working really hit home with me. I am 67 and discovered this disorder about 10 or 12 yrs. ago. I am still working. My present job, I am receptionist, which I've done all of my adult life. This job however, has 32 lines that I have to transfer to and when it is busy, the calls are coming in rapidly, I loose track, hang up on people and can't seem to find a way to avoid these pitfalls. When it's not busy, I usually do well. I am taking Ritilin (generic). That is all Medicare will pay for if you are past 64.

Any suggestions would be so helpful. I'd like to work at least one more year.

Thank you so much.

Lucy

My ADHD employee can't fill out Work Order Form,

If the Work Order is returned to me,  it is always incomplete.

How can I simplify, making it easier for him to Return Work Order Form to me with information needed from Job he did?  Any Suggestions???

This employee can't get medication, even with insurance, he can't afford to.

Any Help would be Great!

Hi,

Two ideas:

1. Offer him a "buddy" at work who can help him with the reports

2. Supply a guide that he can copy; have him tape it to his wall for a reference

Re: meds- there are ways to get help with that. Have him talk to his doctor about that.

Regards,

Terry

THANKS!!!  The first Idea is good However He often works the job alone, so he needs to fill out form on his own.

The 2nd Idea you gave is great... I'll let you know if it helps! Thanks.
