In my last SharePost, I spoke of the adult with ADHD who has spent a lifetime of suffering from (often perceived or exaggerated) failures: personal, educational, social and vocational.   Though ADHD is certainly not a death sentence, it can feel like one when day after day brings continued str...

Great suggestions! I empathize with the adult you mentioned, having experiencedmany of the same phenomenon.

A support group of my peers helped me more than any consultation that i had with a certified professional. Maybe i was fortunate that the moderators allowed us work through our problems by extracting and providing information in a group format.

I descrbie my support group meeting in my book, "Dear Mary: My Life with ADHD."

your advise is correct. a coach is a valuable tool, but i might be out of place by my next comment and if so i appologize.go online many ways to be in contact with worthy professionals if it is hard to find help. but never never never ask a person that is not trained in the world of add it is a dead end that can prove to be worse than no help.a true pro understands the various aspects of add and that takes years of not reading books but reading the very people they treat.to be insulted is the only way i would feel if i were a pro, i am not but thats how i feel has one who lives with add

So, let's get this straight, Don. You have suffered from lack of awareness about your own ADHD, and with the construction of your rather....strange....website, you intend to help others?

I have helped others. Many visitors to the site commend the focus on alternatives to meds. It may be "strange" to you, but you obviously live in a world where chemical poisons rule the day.

I find it strange that people flock to a Website where the author uses the word "awesomeness." Can't find that word anywhere except on his "strange" site.

Have a nice day, while you double your dosage of meds.
