Hello all,

I am a 47 year old male with adhd. I was diagnosed with ADD as a child ( about 6 years old) and was taking Ritalin until I was about 14. My mother took me off of the medication. The side effects was severe. I have noticed that throughout my life I have lived with the symptoms of adhd. I finnally decided to go and see a doctor after all this time, and after all of the questions he said, " You have every symptom"  And then he prescribed me Strattera. Ive been on this medication for about 3 weeks and I dont feel anything, except for the constipation, jitteryness, insomnia, dry mouth, and headaches. I had asked the doc abuot adderall, and he said that adderall is like a shot-gun effect and strattera is like a rifle effect. However in my opion it has no effect.

I would like to get suggestions about what to say to the doc to get him to order me what I feel would help, without looking like I'm some speed freak drug addict. All replies would be appreciated.
