Every year I try to do something for Mental Health month. One year I passed out informational flyers and any other year my DBSA support that I facilitated had a years sale. Last year I started the Cartoon-A-Thon with my blog by drawing one cartoon for each day of the month. This year I'm doing the same thing along with trying to raise funding doing presentations. My blog and website get's about 10,000 unique visites a month. My goal is that i can get 1200 visitors to just pledge $2.00 and i'll hit the goal.
The Cartoon-A-Thon is just a fundraser. It is all about bringing awarness about different mental disorders while keeping our sense of humor.
Here is the 2nd cartoon - Click above image to see it on the site.
So I'm trying to PSYCH my self up for May...
But here it the thing, and you won't find me writing about this on my blog. Like I said before, I like this site since I don't have to hid my feelings...
Not to many people know this but I suffer with bipolar with a lot of quirks to it...LOL then again don't we all... But agoraphobia is part of it... I don't leave my house for days at a on end and only leave if we need to do food shopping... there is a lot more to it, but you get the isea.
On top of that I have not drawn a new cartoon since December 2008. Any think I've posted since was drawn and scanned before then and all I did was Photoshop and clean up the cartoon. That is almost 5 months... With out doing much and dealing with an every deeping deprestion... It was all I could do, to get out of bed and to the computer... (i.e. worked at home on line).
Now I have committed to going to a few different events and doing the cartoon-a-thon... Needless to say I have a bit of elevated anxiety.
Well, now you know my secrets... and now I need your help... If you can pledge a little bit that would help a lot... Also if you can post or share the cartoons with other that will help too.
