Having 2 children with ADHD I have long been dwelling on the issue of self help groups. As of late a friend told me how busy are people, how overburdened. It would be very difficult to found such a group, she said, unless people get some 'instant reward', for example, some advice which is useful, 'to the point'.
I would like to find out more about 'models for self help groups' in the area of ADHD that have local elements. I am well aware of online communities, and am generally quite convinced that they are here to stay. However, I also know that parents are in dire need of information relating to teachers, to schools, to therapies and therapists (and so on) that are only relevant for a small number of parents, in their locality. My interest is thus in a sort of 'amalgamated model', one that has both local and online elements.
