My son stayed the same weight for almost 2 years even though he grew taller. Since he turned 6 and was able to start Intuniv he has gone from slim to regular cut jeans. At his last appointment he had gained 6 lbs and grown 2 1/2 inches so he is now catching up to his peers. Plus, the Intuniv has made his quality of life so much better. He has begun building friendships which with his impulsivity he was not able to do before. He can sit still in class most of the time and is making great grades. He does not feel as though he is living in fog and is not tired all of the time. My suggestion to parents is to just keep trying until you find the medication that is right for your child. They are well worth the effort!

I am so glad to hear that your son gained some weight on this new medication. I will have to read more about it. You are so right...you have to keep on searching for the right medication until you find one that really works and doesn't have bad side effects.
