Currently I am trying Melissa Supreme, Mind care, St. John's wort to keep the mental alertness as well as positive thoughts in the mind, in conjunction with his constituent homeopathy medicine "Sulphur". It is working a lot better in social settings. His impulse are lot in control.
I use herbals 3 times a day and homeopathy once a week.
My son is not diagnosed with AdHD, but hyperactive mind/ constant ideas and impulsivity are pretty prone in his personality structure.

Riiight. This site is plastered with Rx ads and you want to know if the natural treatments work. Yes they do, so does diet modification, but you have already "debunked" that in a seperate article. Sorry it's hard for me to take this seriously.
My son's symptoms are controlled with eliminating artificials from his diet (Feingold) and with omega 3's, a B multi, epsom salt baths (magnesium) and Phosphatidyl serine. But I'm not a real person, only drugs work. You're not even really reading this right now...
Hello Notreal
I have to say...I find your comment profoundly interesting as another member has just attacked me for not recommending medication enough. I can't seem to win. :>)
What personally drives me batty on health sites for ADHD or autism is the whole choosing a side phenomena. You either have to be "pro" or "anti" something whether it is medication vs non-prescription methods.....one teaching method over another...blah blah blah. It gets old and fast.
Let me say this clearly for all to see: THERE IS NO ONE RIGHT WAY, METHOD, or TREATMENT for ADHD or autism or anything else. There just isn't. I wish there was. I wish it were that easy. I could have personally saved years of researching and trying different things to know what works best for my child.
The ads on this site...I don't have any control over those. I am just a writer. I am mom. I am a teacher. I am not the enemy.
Okay let's take a look at what you said in your comment:

Yes I was insincere. I am a dupe of big pharma. (that was a bit of sarcasm)

Where? Where is this article debunking diet modification? Are you saying I wrote it? My kid is on a gluten-caisen free diet and has been for years. Where are you getting this from?

I am a real person who is reading this. I wrote an article if you read it...which was fair and balanced including my personal experience as well as tons of links to research. I am taking SAM-e for crying out loud....I am not one who is pooh poohing supplements. I use them. My kid has taken them. I think they can be useful and effective in certain circumstances. Actually it has been my experience that there are far more sites and forums for parents who do use natural methods than for parents who are using medications. I hardly think you are invisible.
Everyone must make their own choices. All we writers can do is: a. Talk about our personal experience and b. Present the existing research if there is any on the particular topic. Then people make their own decisions about what is best for their child or for themselves.
Seriously...if you have a story to tell about how these supplements helped...please write it. I personally DO want to hear it. I am sure other members want to hear it. We all learn from each other. This is a site for support...not for attacking one another. I am sorry you feel as though you have not been heard....so here is your chance. Write a sharepost...tell your story. Or you can keep attacking me...that is always fun too. NOT. :>)
