Hi Tammy,
Welcome to the site!
Boy, do I feel your pain. Finding the right meds is often a very long and difficult process. As a matter of fact, my daughter is 19 and we are still changing and tweaking things. Sometimes things can go smoothly for years, but then outside factors, growth and other factors can make medication changes necessary.
In regards to your daughter, if you haven't had any luck in getting the right med, I would consider consulting with a child psychiatrist who has a large ADD practice. Given that your daughter also has ODD adds to the challenge, as you know. The ODD plus ADD often equals lots of difficulty in behaviors and you may need more help than meds can offer. Have you consulted with a child therapist to help you manage her?
At any rate, don't give up! It's hard to stay patient when meds don't seem to target the problem areas, or don't do it long enough, but there are many ADHD meds out there now, and it may take a while for your doctor to figure out the type, dosage and timing.
Hang in there and let us know how you fare.
Terry
