Back when I was newly diagnosed with inattetentive ADD at age 35, I was hired by a small company and decided it would be beneficial somehow telling them--as if it were a form of maybe being a self-proponent about my condition, maybe thinking I was educating them about myself. Wrong. No matter how you try to spin it, it changes others' perceptions of your abilities anyway, outside of your parents and psychiatrist. I worked there for a year, but was held under "ADD Scrutiny". Expectations were quietly lowered, and forget about asking for any kind of responsibility or managing! So I say, now, in retrospect had I NOT mentioned anything about it, the others might've just chalked it up to my particular character traits and not judged me as harshly.
Even if people are aware of what it is, if they're your boss, they don't care. So I say don't tell, unless you're like Ty Pennington who is his own boss!
