Just told yesterday that I have this and am interested in as much information as I can find. Also I need to get feedback from other individuals who live with this; I believe it may help me cope with it. Heck and I just thought I had a simple short attention span, Suprise!!!!

    Welcome Shapeshifter43,

What events led to your diagnosis? I'd inherited some money, felt stuck in my life, and set out to answer a question that had plagued me for years: "Am I stupid or crazy?" - (that was 18 years ago; I was 29).

It was such a relief to discover why I felt different my whole life; and at the same time, such a joy to meet other women like myself. As I continued to get to know these women, I felt as if I'd come home and for the first time I felt understood. I met these women on an online forum similar to this one in 1990.

My favorite book after all these years continues to be Women With Attention Deficit Disorder by Sari Solden. The book is available in a revised edition. There is also a 2 CD - (2 1/2 hour) - set that overviews the key concepts in the book. Both are excellent.

Glad you're here. Hope you stick around for a while.

Would love to hear more about you, and what immediate questions you have.

Books ARE great.  I use Amazon.com a lot.  You can read the reviews about the book, which I found very helpful.  This site is very, very helpful in finding info and having questions answered or just to have someone to talk to who understands.  I just found another site, dailystrength.org which is similar to this one.  I'm just learning to navigate it, and I think it only offers discussion between people with various diseases and disorders.  This site offers professional advice, insight, information, alerts, etc.  I was diagnosed late last year, so I'm just learning about ADHD myself.  Take care of yourself shapeshifter43.
