My son has A.D.H.D. he is in third grade.   We have had a hard time getting the right medicine to work.  He does fine for me at home on the medicine he has now but it is a problem at school.  The hardest issue now is FRIENDS, how do you get the other kids to understand?   Dalton is a very kind child but has problems interrupting, its very obvious that he can't control it.   I find myself saying it is because he is an only child and I am a single parent.  Dalton has my undivided attention and his closest friend is my niece who is 14 years old, she babysits him after school.  There aren't kids on our short block in a small town.  Dalton goes to  a catholic school for the structure.  So no classmates that we know in town his age.  I guess I really need advice on what you do to with the friends issue.  I think it is a lot on educating the parents as well.  This is a crucial age in developing friendships.  We have had kids over to play but never seem to get invited back.  It brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.
