School can be a nightmare for children with ADHD. Your child is eligible by law for special accommodations in the classroom like extra time on tests. Talk to your child’s teachers and school administrators about your family’s needs. An educational advocate can help you gain accommodation. Build an educational team for your child to include teachers, learning specialists, and administrators. 20% to 30% of kids with ADHD also have a learning disability like dyslexia (trouble reading).
