Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com. To date, there have not been any conclusive studies to show a correlation between diet and ADHD.

A recent share post on this site explains more about this subject as well as what to do if you suspect certain foods may be causing or worsening behaviors:

Have You Heard About the ADHD Diet?

If you believe your child has ADHD, the first place to start would be with your family physician. He or she would be able to guide you through the process of diagnosis. Some pediatricians feel comfortable diagnosing ADHD while others do not and would prefer to have your child see a psychiatrist or psychologist for an evaluation for ADHD.

The diagnostic process usually includes a physical examination to rule out any physical causes of symptoms, a questionnaire completed by parents and teachers and a discussion with the doctor. You can learn more about the diagnostic process:

I hope this information helps. Please let me know how it is going.

Hi everyone. Although I am young I have a lot of background to give...

Hi there. From experience, I would say def. keep him away from the red dyes like Red #10 and all the other artificial flavors and any other dyes. They used to make me bug out when I was younger. It increased my symptoms by 50% I would say. Fruits and veg. are nothing to worry about with ADHD, there actually the best thing for him. You can never have to many. It's the artificial stuff and the sugars to watch. If he refuses to eat fruits and veggies then offer him a natural kids vitamin. Nature's Plus Animal Parade--it's called "KID's Green's" I have taken it for most of my life, until I was to old and "had" to start taking vitamins for my age. They are very tasty and still adults can take them. My little brother still takes them and loves them. Well Im here if you have any questions. Good luck my friend!
