Oxycontin is not specifically listed as a medication that cannot be taken with Ritalin, however, this does not mean that your boyfriend should take both medications. He may find that the Ritalin decreases the effectiveness of the pain medication.
Would your boyfriend be willing to have you go with him to the doctor to discuss alternatives? What other types of medication could be used to help? There are a number of different ADHD medications available, including medication in patch form rather than oral medication. Sometimes it just takes a while to find the right medication.
You don't mention what types of symptoms your boyfriend is experiencing from the ADHD. Some people prefer to use behavior strategies to compensate for symptoms.Can you tell us more about what types of problems he is having with ADHD?
