I do not have the experience to answer your question specifically. However, I can tell you stimulant medications often have the opposite effect on people with ADHD, helping them to focus and become less hyperactive.
My son seemed to calm down and be less talkative when taking stimulant medications, but not so much that he didn't talk at all. He would not become jittery.
I would be interested to hear how your first day went with the medication. Did you feel that it helped you?

No. Not if you actually have ADHD. I am prescribed 20mg ADDerall XR once a day and feel no real stimulant effects. No heart racing, no mind racing, not to talkative. Since I have been on this medication (about a month) I have just became more focused and less depressed feelings. I can say however that it does seem to make me WAY less hungry. I actually have to remember to eat so that I don't loose to much weight. Hope this helps!
