Trouble focusing at work and am making mistakes.
I have had several different jobs in my life time and every one has told me I need to focus more. I am currently struggling with my current job I have had for over 5 years with focusing. Is the only answer medication or is there something else I can do. I try so hard to stay focused, but i just seem to lose focuse.
Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.
Medication is one option, however, there are many people who choose not to take medication.

I don't think that Behavior Modification is a good long term option for ADHD people. I gave that the good old college try for awhile and it was not effective for consistent, long term results.
Most experts will say that ADHD victims must change our diet through elimination of all toxic foods, which include ALL FAST FOODS THAT WE EAT OUT AND WE EAT IN...meaning all processed food, so basically go to a health food store and grow your own food, which not many at all have the time or the money to do. They say we can introduce one toxic food at a time after a complete 2 week fast from all toxic foods to see what we can tolerate and to watch our behaviors when we reintroduce each food again....in other words, find out what food that we are basically very allergic too by how it effects our behavior and our focusing processes and then eliminate the food altogether forever from our diet if it affects us adversely that is. This is not an easy task! I plan on using this method in June and if it works by the end of the summer and I stop suffering like you do with focusing problems then I will write back and recommend that you try doing it too.
