What can I do to help my child not get picked on for having ADHD his teacher is doing all wrong

My son is 10 yrs old in 4th grade and his teacher has signled him out for being a bad kid.  Which he is not he is very intelligent, but his tracher is constantly picking on him by not letting him talk or explain anything at all.  Tells hin he will be lucky to get computer time, when he loves computers.  Will not let him ask any kind of questions, and always hollering at him, telling him he is a bad kid and he is not going to take over his classroom, all because on the first day of school he was a little antsy.  So I had 2 meetings with him over this already and they served no purpose at all.  Since it has bnot happened again.  Everything I read about how a teacher is suppose to helpa child with ADHD he has done the complete opposite for him.  He is making him a nervous reck and he is bitting his nails raw, I tried to chabge his room with the other 4th grade with the councler and she told me he could never handle it, which is pure boloney he has been with the other 4th grade since he has been in that school since 1st grade, and he is far from stupid he is 2 levels above his math and 2 other subjects.  They just signled him out as a hyper child.  Can someone please help me on what to do please amd I found out today 11/02/08 that the councler is full of boloney.  You can e-mail me at karen05260@yahoo.com  Thank you very very much.   Karen Ortolano  From South Philadelphia he is in a public school

Start by writing down on the calendaer each date you have met with the school about your son. Start asking the counselor who you need to talk to at the need level and request their name, address and contact number in writing. If they ask why, then tell them you are going to seek help at the next level because they (the school)  are unwilling to help you. This may spur some activity. If it does not, submit your request in writing to the counselor, the principal, to the ESE Department at the school district and the School Superintendent. Keep copies of everything and if necessary send them with a "Return receipt" (someone has to sign for it then). Be sure to note the number of times you have requested help from the school and what their response has been.

It is sad to say, but this happens more than people realize. Alot of times is because the schools and some teachers are just not educated on the area and are scared of it. I puts them in an area of that they dont understand so they are afraid of the unknown. Its easier to label the children and not deal with them then try to help. If going to the school counselor has not helped. Go the principal of the school. Go thru the channels of school so they dont feel your on bombbarding them, but let them your serious and will not stop till something is done.

They still want to put you on back burner, go to the administration of school for your city. If you dont get any response that way, you can get mental heath for your area involved for dismissing your child and giving him proper education, he is no different than any other child. In fact has been shown that they are very intelligent and excile more than other, but just excused for being trouble makers..  /document everything and they will know your serious and may not dismiss you.

Had the same sort of thing happen and that was the extremes that had to do. let them know i was not just going to go away. Took alot of moving classes but she got in good proper classes that helped her like any other child.
