Hi Tina,

 

This is an important question to ask your teen's doctor, as I am not a physician and can't give you personal medical advice. That said, it would probably be sensible to have your child checked for any possible underlying cardiac abnormalities, just to be on the safe side. If all is fine and your doctor clears him/her for taking meds while playing sports, it would be prudent to remind him to drink plenty of fluids while active. Some people report they seem to dehydrate quicker while taking stimulants.

 

But again, this should be taken up with your child's doctor.
