I've recently been given adderall xr 20 mg. May I still drink things with caffeine?

Hi Lind,

 

As I am not a physician, this question should be directed to whoever is prescribing your Adderall XR. That said, everyone reacts differently to the combination of prescribed stimulants and caffeine. Some find that the additional caffeine is fine; others say they get a bit jittery from it, while others have reported that a small amount of coffee seems to enhance their medications.

 

If you don't have any underlying medical problems, specifically cardiac, then you most likely would be fine with reasonable amounts of caffeinated drinks. But again, only your doc would know for sure.
