Hi Betsy: Never mix any medications without consulting with your physician and/or your pharmacist. Never take any over-the-counter meds or herbal remedies with prescription meds without clearing it first as well.

Many herbal remedies are very helpful, but they are not controlled in how they are absorbed into your system, the purity of them, or even the amount that is in each pill or dose. They are rated as foods, not drugs and therein lies the problem.

If your doctor says that it's ok, and you trust your doctor, then follow what he tells you to do. If you don't trust your doctor, find one you can trust.
