I bet  your doctor did not tell you what my doctor did not tell me whch is that ADHD people more often than not have oppositional defiancd and conduct disorder.  I have also foud out since i have had access to internet that ADHD AND DYSLEXIA ARE ALSO GENETICALLY CONNECTED. more often than not children with dyslexia also have ADHD. which means people with ADHD are most likely dyslxic as well.

I have been diagnosed with DYSLEXIA but not ADHD  BUT  I can not get a doctor to test me for ADHD. I figure since ADHD is genetic and i am the only genetic connection to my children and ALL  of them are ADHD then i must be as well.

Try having them reason out the consiquences of their actions.  I would do that with my most stuborn child and it helped him.  you could also tell them that the fact that their father is not in the picture or willing to help is not a reflection on them but shows how (scared, insecure, selfish. ext.) [OR WHAT EVER YOU OULD LIKE TO USE TO GET THEM TO UNDERSTAND] that he is.
