i want to know if certain meds i'm on can affect a home pregnancy test
Hi Lea,
Thank you for your question. Home pregnancy tests work by detecting whether a certain hormone (HCG) is present in the urine. If that hormone is in your urine, you are pregnant. Medications that you may be taking will not affect the presence of this hormone in your urine, so the pregnancy test should still work. However, it's important for you to know that it's not recommended for pregnant women to use Depakote. If you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, you should discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of continuing to use Depakote. You may also want to discuss whether alternative treaments are available for you to take during pregnancy. I hope this helps!
Best of luck,
Casey
