Hypothyroidism and Adderall

I was born without a thyroid completely. I am overweight and extremely tired all the time even tho my doctor says all my levels are fine. I was looking into adderall and was wondering if that would help with my sleepiness and my problems losing weight. Ive tried every diet imaginable and nothing seems to be working. I have a friend who lost 30 lbs in 6 months from adderall, and it was specifically prescribed to her for that reason. So should I ask my doctor?

Thank you for your question.

It would be impossible for me to say whether Adderall would be appropriate for you. I would, however, discuss this with your physician. He or she would be better able to help you decide whether medication would be best.
