Hey Cbsheba,

I was told two years ago by a psychiatrist that studies are showing that fish oil reduces symptoms "across the board" when it comes to psychiatric diagnoses. For me personally, I think it reduces anxiety symptoms the most.

I began taking nutritional supplements with my medication fifteen years ago when I noticed many of my friends, who are healthcare professionals, were taking supplements. It was the best thing I ever did. My ADD and anxiety symptoms lessened and I've been depression free ever since. I believe the B-complex, calcium with magnesium, selenium, and fish oil help the most. Because nutrients are synergistic, I also take a multi, C and E. To learn more about how nutritional supplements help the brain, read Your Miracle Brain: Maximize Your Brainpower, Boost Your Memory, Lift Your Mood, Improve Your IQ and Creativity, Prevent and Reverse Mental Aging by Jean Carper.

I stopped taking medication about ten years ago. That said, when I begin attending classes next year, I most likely will restart the stimulants.
