Q: is it healthy to put a 3yr old child on chlonidin, and is it addictive?

Klonopin is a anti-seizure medication which has been found to be helpful for some people with ADHD. It has been approved to treat children and infants with epilepsy and other seizures disorders. When it is prescribed to treat ADHD, it is prescribed off-label, which means that it has not been approved to treat ADHD but through clinical experience it has been found to be helpful. Many medications are prescribed in this way.
However, if you have concerns about this medication, you should speak directly with your physician. He or she would be better able to explain why this medication has been prescribed and the risks associated with it.
