We have an 8 year old son with ADHD/OCD/Anxiety disorder. We just completed a 6 week "wrap-around" program which included coordinated at-home visits, at-school visits and individual therapy. The improvements were significant, but now that the program has ended we are having difficulty sustaining our gains. In particular, it is my wife -- who herself struggles with ADHD and Depression and the attending organizational and emotional challenges -- who is having difficulty maintaining the systems we have put in place. Moreover, our 8 year old reads her look a book and moves in on her weaknesses. To succeed, we need to help my wife achieve a dramatic transformation in her ability to manage her ADHD and her relationship with our son. She is already on meds, with limited improvement. My question is -- does anyone know of an intensive therapy model, "ADHD parent camp," or other modality that might be effective in creating the kind of rapid transformation this situation requires? I realize all depends on my wife's willingness to invest fully in such an approach -- and candidly, I'd have to say the will is there, but the ability to follow-through and overcome the emotional roadblocks is limited. By the way, we are located in Washington state, but at this point would consider a solution anywhere if it would help us turn the corner. Thanks for your input.
