first off try to get you hands on a Physicians' Desk Reference Book, as this book claims this med is used mainly to treat certain types of seizures, convulsions along with other types of epilepsy medication, and also to treat forms of bipolar disorder. Also use the web site DRUGS.COM or just type in DEPAKOTE, but please remember to read more then one website as you need to get ALL of the facts on meds before giving them to your child or taking them youself. When my son was on this med it made him very very aggressive toward the other children when we took him off his aggression stopped. So just get all the facts first then decide.
