Topics:Question

My 10 year old son has been on Concerta and it really helps him focus on schoolwork and homework.

I am a single mother of 5 children and we have lost our medical insurance.  I have applied for Medicaid, but it is "pending".  Although his doctor will wait for payment, the pharmacy will not and so my son hasn't had his medication which is almost $200.  I am out of work and the children's father is thousands of dollars in arears on child support.  My parents have been helping me, but they are retired on a fixed income and can't afford the Concerta either.

Can you tell me how to apply for help to get it possibly free?

Thank you for any  you can give me.

Thank you for your question and welcome to ADHDCentral.com.

Most of the major pharmaceutical companies have programs to help those that cannot afford medication, receive it either free or for a nominal fee. There are differently eligibility rules for each program.

The following article provides more information on the different programs:

Free or Low Cost Medications

I hope this information helps
